The man who holds the Johannesburg racetrack’s unofficial ultimate lap record, Julian van der Watt cannot wait to get back to Kyalami where he hopes to continue his Investchem Formula 1600 winning ways Saturday 22 April.

Capetonian van der Watt, who set the new Kyalami’s fastest lap yet in a demonstration run aboard an A1 grand Prix car last year, heads north intent to keep his unbeaten record in the new wings and slicks single seater series this weekend following his dominant form in the class’s inaugural races at his Killarney home track last time out

“We are really looking forward to the Kyalami race,” Julian admitted. “We feel that we have some good pace and after Cape Town we want to keep pushing. “I love Kyalami track and I can’t wait to get out there, but that would not be possible without the great team I have behind me so it’s a huge thanks to Investchem and RDSA for all the help and support.”

“See you at Kyalami!”
