Blancpain GT Endurance – David ready for Blancpain Endurance action

South African GT driver David Perel heads to Monza for the first round of the Blancpain Endurance Championship this weekend 22-23 April and having twice missed the podium at the classic Italian circuit, the Capetonian hopes to right the ship third time around with a little help from his brand new AM class Kessel Ferrari 488 GT3.

“Monza is one of my favourite race tracks, even though it does not have too many corners,” David admitted. “I can’t help but feel the history of that great circuit when I’m racing there – especially when I’m driving a Ferrari there!”

Despite a long wait for the season, David has been very busy having done more testing and training than ever. “I completely changed my training regime for 2017 and I’m far better physically prepared this year. “I’ve also had the opportunity to do a lot of track testing in the Ferrari 488 GT3, including a two day test at Monza three weeks ago, so I’m ready and I really can’t wait to race.”

David will have two brand new co-drivers for this season, both of whom know Monza well. Marco Zanuttini is the 2016 Blancpain Endurance AM Champion and Jacques Duyver, also a South African, is a Ferrari Challenge European Champion.

Monza’s first round Blancpain Endurance race will see over 60 cars starting the three hour race, which will be streamed live on YouTube.com/GTWorld. You can also follow David’s progress via his own profile on Instagram.com/davidperel.
