South Africa’s newly crowned Formula 4 UAE champion Jonathan Aberdein returns to the German ADAC Formula 4 championship with a spring in his step and the title in mind after topping the times in the German series’ pre-season test last week. Aberdein is looking forward to continuing his late season promise and winter title form when the ADAC season kicks off at Oschersleben Saturday 29 April.

“I’m feeling confident going into the first round of the Championship,” the Cape Town driver admitted. “All of the pre-season testing has gone well so far but it will all come down to getting it right on the day, so let’s hope it all falls together nicely for us.”

Aberdein, who left for Germany after winning the SA Senior Max karting title in 2015 enjoyed a positive first season in the German championship, where he drove onto the podium later in the season. Jonathan treated the UAE championship as a dress rehearsal for this year’s ADAC title and delivered a dominant title while at it, before returning to Germany where he has regularly featured at the top of the pre-season test time sheets.

“The plan was always to treat last year’s ADAC championship and the UAE series as a learning program in anticipation of a full effort this year and I am very happy with how that has gone and I’m looking forward to a second season once again with Motopark racing. “Now I’m excited to get going!”
