The Honda Art Car Jean Graton will visit Monaco in May as part of a brand-new exhibition to mark the 60th anniversary of motor racing comic-book hero Michel Vaillant.

Wrapped in the Michel Vaillant Art Strip ‘A Fond!’, which depicts the hero flat-out in his Formula 1 machine in Monaco’s world-famous tunnel in 1974, the Art Car, which is based on the Honda Civic WTCC, will form a central part of the display at the Grimaldi Forum from May 4-9.

Joining the car will be 20 large-sized Michel Vaillant Art Strips, paying tribute to the fictional character created by Jean Graton in 1957, and highlighting Vaillant’s most significant career moments.

Honda established a partnership with the Jean Graton Foundation last year to create the Art Car, which claimed victory in the FIA World Touring Car Championship’s Art Car Contest at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

It then raced – in TCR specification – at the Zandvoort round of TCR Benelux with Honda’s current WTCC leader Tiago Monteiro partnering Studio Graton’s Jean-Louis Dauger.

‘L’exposition Michel Vaillant a Monaco’ takes place at the Grimaldi Forum, 10 Avenue Princesse Grace, Monaco – Espace Diaghilev from May 4-9. Opening hours are 1200-1900 daily and entry is free.
