The drivers in the French F4 Championship tackle a challenge in Belgium!

Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes will host the fourth round of the French F4 Championship. It will also mark the mid-season point for the youngsters in the championship. The 2017 Spa Euro Race will give them the opportunity to race on this history-packed track between 9th and 11th June – and they’re champing at the bit!

The drivers in the French F4 Championship will head for the Walloon region for the fourth round after their outing on the Pau city circuit in May in the Pau Grand Prix. Between 9 – 11 June they will race on the 7-km Spa-Francorchamps layout. This track is in the Liège province and it usually provides great racing helped by changeable weather conditions. The drivers love it as it has fast and slow corners long straights in an undulating setting.
Antoine Horemans (17) has decided to take the plunge in the Belgian round and measure himself the drivers in the French F4 Championship. It’s a daring move for the driver from Picardy, but an understandable one. He has accumulated a lot of experience in karts over the years and is now determined to pursue a career in single-seaters.
Arthur Rougier in scintillating form in Pau at the last meeting, arrives at Spa leading the championship and is more motivated than ever. Only 10 points behind in second place comes Victor Martins who is determined to close the gap and try and overtake Rougier. None of the drivers has raced on this circuit before in an F4 so they’re all in with a chance of victory.
Pierre-Alexandre Jean is still in the leading trio in the overall classification. His aim will be to hold on to this place as the gaps behind him are fairly small. Charles Milesi in fourth place before tackling this event at the half-way mark of the season should give his fellow trainees a run for their money. Stuart White’s good showing in Paul has put him in fifth place overall and the young South African will be aiming to continue in the same vein.
Marvin Klein and Christian Muñoz are 22 points behind the top 3 on level pegging and this coming weekend will be a tie-breaker for them. Florian Venturi who made a bad start to the Pau weekend is only one point behind, which should motivate him so that he can take up the Spa challenge in the best frame of mind. Jean-Baptiste Mela and Casper Røes are progressing as the races unfold and will have a part to play. Javier Gonzalez and Hugo Chevalier, also on level pegging in the overall classification, have both scored a top-3 finish and there’s more to come.
Thomas Drouet in 13th place clinched his first top-three finish in Pau. This put an end to a series of setbacks for the driver from Toulouse who will redouble his efforts to keep up the momentum in Belgium. Not far behind, Aldo Festante still has every chance of moving up the time sheets and upsetting the current hierarchy.
The two Belgian drivers in the French F4 Championship will be racing in front of their home crowd. Will they put on standout performances on the Spa-Francorchamps layout and score precious points in the classification? Answer on Sunday evening after three races that all have the making of thrillers. What is sure, however, is that they will be cheered on by the Belgian public who will flock to the circuit in large numbers. Before the summer break all the drivers in the French F4 Championship are dreaming of victory on this legendary circuit.
