The weekend on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit finished on late Sunday afternoon for the drivers in the French F4 Championship, who took full advantage of the final kilometres covered on the Belgian layout before the summer break.

The afternoon’s race was an action-packed one. Victor Martins gave Arthur Rougier a hard time right till the last minute. However, the latter managed to cling on to first place and clinched his hat trick of victories this weekend. Martins finished a few tenths behind and was in second place on the podium for the second time this afternoon. The two drivers swapped the lead throughout the race, but it was Rougier who took the chequered flag despite the pressure from Martins.

Gonzalez had another good race and has every reason to be satisfied with his Belgian weekend. He finished well ahead of his rivals in the third and last heat. Once again Florian Venturi drove a solid race and finished just shy of the top 3, while a bit further back Christian Muñoz completed the top 5 after overtaking several of his fellow trainees. Following his retirement this morning Jean-Baptiste Mela put on a fighting display and took sixth place.

South African Stuart White fought his way up through the field during the race and came home seventh. Casper Røes, in 12th place at the start battled with Thomas Drouet for a long time and finally got the better of the young Frenchman. Pierre-Alexandre Jean failed to make the best of his second place on the grid and fell back to eighth after being on the podium yesterday.

Thomas Drouet finished the third heat where he started – in 10th place. Outside the top 10 the gaps were bigger. Aldo Festante started 14th and saw the flag in 11th spot followed by Ugo de Wilde who was unable to make much of an impression on his home turf. The other Belgian Amaury Cordeel failed to show what he was capable of and finished in 13th position.

Marvin Klein was 14th after a drive through penalty, one higher than his place on the grid.Antoine Horemans’weekend concluded in 15e position and he left Belgium having learned a lot. In addition, he could be satisfied that he saw the flag in all three heats on his first outing in F4. To his great disappointment Hugo Chevalier was unable to start the third race.
