Misano 24-Hour Preview – SA Endurance champ all set for Italian epic

2015 African Endurance Champion Nick Adcock is ready to race and win as he heads off to Italy to compete in the Misano 24-Hour race Saturday and Sunday 8-9 July. Adcock, who starts his second 24-hour race at Misano, will share a CWS Racing Ginetta G55 GT4 in the second round of the Creventic 24H Touring Car Endurance Series with British team owner Colin White and US driver JT Coupal.

“Misano will be my second 24-hour race following Paul Ricard with Team Africa Le Mans where we came third in the SP3 class at Paul Ricard last year,” Nick explained. “The difference at Misano is that we will be looking for the overall win due to the different classes racing this weekend — we will be among the quicker cars on track.”

As the driver who has enjoyed the most wins in the South African Endurance series, Nick realises that there is a great deal of planning, strategy and good fortune needed to be successful. “Let’s see how many of those boxes we tick in Italy — our CWS team is leading the 24H series and has a long history with Ginetta running in the BTCC support Supercup series as well as a long distance spec car in the 24 hour series.

The Misano 24-hour will be live streamed on www.24htceseries.com through the 8-9 July weekend and with four South Africans on the entry list, it will be worthwhile keeping tabs on progress. “Interestingly, team principal Colin White once raced on the short oval at Killarney back in the 1990’s,” Adcock concluded. “So there’s another South African connection, but our focus is for a clean race and the best results — I am really looking forward to the weekend.”
