Investchem Formula 1600 – Julian chases full house on PE debut
He may have not raced at Port Elizabeth’s Aldo Scribante racetrack before, but that does not stop runaway Investchem Formula 1600 championship leader Julian van der Watt from chasing another two race wins on his first visit to the Nelson Mandela Bay racetrack. Van der Watt remains unbeaten in his RDSA Investchem Mygale single seater so far this year.
“We have never raced at PE, so it will be a very interesting weekend,” Julian explained. “We have won the last 8 races from 8 starts so I will certainly not be slacking off, now is the time for us to push even harder — it would be brilliant to return home to Cape Town with a perfect ten out of ten win rate.
“I have an amazing team working on my car — I must thank Hendrik for all the hard work he has put into the car as well as Ian Schofield and Investchem and my mentor Claudio Piazza-Musso at Race Driver South Africa. “But I’m pretty excited for Aldo Scribante – bring it on!”
