South Africa’s Jonathan Aberdein scored his best result of the German ADAC Formula 4 season when he ended up second in the first race of a weekend that saw him scoring good points in all three races at Oschersleben. Second place also matches Capetonian Aberdein’s best result in the class so far following his second in Holland last year.

“It was a great weekend,” Jonathan admitted. “The car was on the pace and I did the quickest lap of the weekend, I finished second in the first race where I had the leader under pressure for the entire race but Oschersleben is all but impossible to overtake.”

Having qualified fourth, Aberdein moved up to take that second in the opening race and he was once again chasing for a podium in third when he went off challenging for third and dropped to seventh and then Jonathan finished ninth in the final to score a few more crucial points. “It’s a pity about race 2 but that’s racing, Jonathan concluded. “I’m also happy to have scored in races 2 and 3 to add some good points to my championship.”

The ADAC Formula 4 championship now heads toward the end of its season with three more races to run starting at the Nurburgring 5-6 August.
