South Africa’s IMSA Weathertech sports racing star Stephen Simpson heads to Road America 6 August looking for that final step up the podium following two strong second places in the past two races. Simpson, who races the JDC-Miller Oreca-Gibson with Russo Canadian teammate Misha Goikhberg are hoping to finally put an end to Cadillac’s winning streak at the team’s home race.

“We are heading to Road America feeling good and determined to continue our run of strong form,” Indianapolis-based Capetonian Stephen explained. “It will be a good weekend as it is JDC Miller Motorsports home race and we have a lot of family and friends attending the race. “Road America is also a fantastic race track and I’m excited to get behind the wheel and get started.”

Simpson and Goikhberg have been a consistent thorn in the side of the gargantuan General Motors factory Cadillac effort, with the tiny Wisconsin-based JDC-Miller team splitting the three Cadillacs in the championship race and showing the form to topple the cars that have yet to lose an IMSA race this year, but the team has great plans going forward too.

“JDC Miller Motorsports has just announced that the team will expand to run two cars from 2018 onwards so that is very good news,” Stephen concluded. “It would be great to celebrate that with a step up to the top of the podium.
