Decisive race for Vaillante REBELLION at the 6 Hours of Shanghai
While the FIA WEC season is coming to an end, the Vaillante REBELLION team has strong ambitions before taking the start of the 6 Hours of Shanghai this weekend.
Second race in Asia for World Endurance Championship 2017, Shanghai will take place after a very complicated meeting in Fuji where weather conditions have caused difficulties both on the road and on the strategies to be applied. If Japan was a synonymous with success for the Oreca 07 #31 crew that won this seventh race of the season, #13 was sadly forced to retire after a collision with another LMP2 that sent the car to the safety rails.
Only 10 points behind leader Jackie Chan DC Racing #38, Bruno Senna, Nicolas Prost and Julien Canal will keep up the momentum for this meeting in China.
Nelson Piquet Jr, Mathias Beche and David Heinemeier Hansson, currently seventh in the LMP2 category, will be keen to mark the championship once again for this penultimate meeting of the year.
Bruno Senna, #31 driver:
“After a very hectic and wet win in Fuji, our championship challenge has gotten even stronger and I’m very excited to get to Shanghai and push even harder as it’s one of the strongest tracks for car 31’s line-up!”
Julien Canal, #31 driver:
“We are waiting for this Shanghai race a little more serenely than Fuji. We are now only 10 points behind our competitor. However we remain concentrated at 200% on our last two races, we are not allowed to make any mistake to win the championship! The whole team is more than ever motivated for the title!”
