FFF Racing to return to Super Trofeo Middle East with three car entry
It’s been a short off-season for FFF Racing by ACM as they now start preparation for the new year of racing which kicks off with the opening round of the Super Trofeo Middle East in Abu Dhabi 2-3 February. The Chinese-based team will field three cars at the Yas Marina circuit.
Last year the team competed in the Super Trofeo Asia Series with Jack Bartholomew, who returns to the team this year after finishing third in the Pro standings. The British driver is naturally looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“I am delighted to have re-signed for a second season, continuing the very good relationship I have built up with them. I will be returning to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship in the UAE and Asia after a successful first season in 2017. I have been training very hard over the winter and now I am familiar with the circuits, my aim is to win in 2018.”
Bartholomew is joined by Aidan Read for this opening round of the championship. The Australian racer is no stranger to the team having competed with them in the Blancpain GT Series Asia in 2017, finishing a strong fourth overall in the Silver standings.
“I’m looking forward to racing in the Middle East for the first time in Lamborghini Super Trofeo with FFF Racing,” said Read. “I’ll be driving with Jack, who I know well from last year as fellow academy drivers. I will be adapting to the environment, and using the weekend as preparation for my 2018 season.”
Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals winner Taylor Proto will run solo while Mark Proto teams up with Parris Mullins in an Anglo-American line-up. The duo both competed in Super Trofeo North America last year, claiming two podiums from four starts.
“We are very happy to start the new season with a three-car squad for Super Trofeo Middle East,” team owner Sean Fu Songyang began. “We believe we have a strong line-up in each car, so we’re really looking forward to some good, close racing in Abu Dhabi and then Dubai.
“It is great to have Jack Bartholomew back on board again for the second season and I’m pleased that he will compete for the entire season. He has developed a well during his time with us. Also, a warm welcome to Super Trofeo for Aidan, who raced with us last year in GT3, while last – but by no means least – we’re pleased to have with us both Taylor and Mark Proto for the Middle East series.”
