Eliseo Martinez joins AVF for 2018 Eurocup

AVF is proud to reveal the name of the fourth driver set to hold the team’s banner in the 2018 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season. After Axel Matus, Xavi Lloveras, and Christian Muñoz, the team led by Adrián Vallés is delighted to welcome Eliseo Martinez. A 17-year-old from Spain, Martinez will make his debut in the Renault Sport-promoted European championship. After a long career in karting, where he graduated as a Spanish champion in 2010 and 2015 in the Alevin and Junior classes respectively, he made the transition in single-seaters in 2017, competing in the EuroFormula Open. He also continued his karting career ending up as the Spanish Senior KZ2 Vice-Champion.

Eliseo Martinez

“I have great hopes for 2018. It will be a very hard championship featuring the best drivers in the world. I fought with them in kart racing in the past, and it will be equally challenging to adapt to the new category. On the other hand, I am sure that AVF will give me great support. We already had the chance to work together in winter testing which went well enough. This is why I decided to try my hand at the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0”.

Adrian Valles

“Eliseo is the fourth driver joining our ranks for the upcoming Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season and I’m very happy with that. We have four young and potentially very fast guys, which obviously raises our hopes to be competitive. Martinez worked with us in testing at Montmelò and Paul Ricard, and he behaved well, quickly adapting to the new car.”
