#Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit – Points for Duminy despite tough start
Ballito racer Daniel Duminy had a tough time at Kyalami’s season-opening Engen Volkswagen Cup races, suffering a puncture to end up well down after changing the wheel in the first heat, before fighting back to ninth in race 2 to rescue a few points out of a tough weekend.
“Rubbing is racing they say, but I ended up with a flat wheel and that cost me this weekend,” Daniel rued. “I had a much better second race and fought back to ninth to score a few points — it is what it is. “The car wasn’t quite right this weekend. Cape Town will be better in April and until then, we will just have to work harder.
“Thanks to Vic Maharaj and the whole VMR team for all the effort – it’s a new car and we will get it right soon. “See you at Killarney!”
