Competing for the first time in the famed FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), MR Racing is proud to announce its entry with the Ferrari 488 GTE Nr. 70 driven by Motoaki Ishikawa, Eddie Cheever III and works Ferrari driver Olivier Beretta. The brand new team will race in the LMGTE-Am category technically supported by LMGTE-Pro class reigning champion AF Corse. Motoaki Ishikawa, team owner and driver: “MR Racing team is going to debut in the WEC thanks to the collaboration and experience of the multi-winner AF Corse. We’ll be fighting for the podium from the very beginning despite the increased number of the cars in LMGTE-Am and their quality. As driver, after two seasons in the Blancpain GT Endurance Series, I believe I’m ready to face this new adventure in the WEC Superseason with my special teammates: `Mr. Endurance’ Olivier Beretta and `Fresh Man’ Eddie Cheever”. Eddie Cheever III: “I’m happy and proud to be part of this very important plan sharing the car with Motoaki and Olivier. I’ can’t wait to start the championship and race in Le Mans 24”. Oliver Beretta: “It is a new challenge and I am very happy to be part of the team since racing with Ferrari is always special. It will be hard but we are ready with Motoaki and Eddie for this new Superseason where we will race two times in the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Le Mans is the big one always awesome to be part of it, I raced there for the first time in 1995 and as always I will do my best to land my 12th podium with my friends and teammate at MR team”.
