Exploring new territories: Navarra hosts the next round of the 24H GT SERIES powered by Hankook

GENNEP/LOS ARCOS (12 April, 2018) – Action in the 24H GT SERIES powered by Hankook continues with the inaugural Hankook 12H NAVARRA (20-22 April, 2018). Opened in 2010, the ‘Circuito de Navarra’ in Los Arcos in the Spanish Navarra region is a new venue for the CREVENTIC SERIES powered by Hankook. For the Hankook 12H NAVARRA, running from noon till midnight on Sunday, 22 April, over 20 GT3, GT4, silhouette cars, specials and Porsche Cup cars are expected on the grid. The Hankook 12H NAVARRA is the second round of the European Championship in the 24H GT SERIES powered by Hankook.
Having hosted endurance races at 17 different circuits in 13 countries at four continents already, Dutch agency CREVENTIC is delighted to add the Navarra circuit in Spain to its portfolio of venues. The track has very good facilities in the pits and the paddock and the 3.993 kilometres long circuit with its 15 corners, six left-handers and nine right-handers, is popular among drivers. Only recently, the McLaren Formula 1 team used the track to present its latest Formula 1 car. At this occasion, FIA Formula 1 race director Charlie Whiting also visited the Navarra circuit and commented positively on the facilities. While the track has already hosted various GT races, the Hankook 12H NAVARRA marks the first international twelve-hour race to be held at the circuit. Currently, drivers and teams from 14 countries are to be represented. “Our work with management and staff of the Navarra circuit over the past months has been very pleasant and we are looking forward to the race,” says Peter Freij on behalf of CREVENTIC.

The A6 class will be setting the outright pace with a good mix of brands: Audi, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche are all represented in Navarra. The event sees the return of reigning 24H SERIES GT champions Hofor Racing. Other 24H SERIES race winners like Bohemia Energy Racing with Scuderia Praha, Herberth Motorsport and Car Collection Motorsport will be competing at Navarra as well. The SPX class includes a pair of KTM X-Bows as well as MARC Focus and Vortex silhouette cars. Six Porsche 991 Cup cars have been entered for the rapidly growing 991 category. In the Porsche class, two teams will be making their 24H GT SERIES powered by Hankook debut at Navarra. A Mercedes-AMG GT4 and a Ginetta G55 GT4 in the GT4 class round out the field.
Teams and drivers have the possibility to familiarise themselves with the circuit during two optional private test sessions of three hours each on Friday, 20 April.
