AVF again unlucky in Silverstone ELMS outing
The AVF team faced another not-so-lucky weekend in last weekend’s European Le Mans Series race at Silverstone. The Spanish team, led by Adrián Vallés and making its debut in Endurance competition, continued to deliver excellent performance, albeit never rewarded by the final result. On the prestigious British circuit, the fourth round of the ELMS championship took place last week and after qualifying saw Konstantin Tereschenko and Henrique Chaves get the 14th fastest lap time with their Dallara P217-Gibson. During the 4-hour event, the AVF combo constantly improved their performance by climbing the general classification. Just 30 minutes from the checkered flag though, Tereschenko and Chaves had managed to conquer the second absolute position, but a sudden and unexpected rear wing problem forced the Dallara-Gibson to pit for repairs. The podium was inevitably lost and, in the end, the AVF team had to settle for the eighth position. Maximum concentration is now on the next meeting on the legendary Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps on the September 23rd weekend.
