#GTOpen – Luzich Racing bolsters the fight in GT Open championship at Silverstone
With the championship stakes at an all-time high, Luzich Racing once again strengthened its International GT Open title fight with a new first place in Race 1 and other significant positions at the scenic Silverstone track. In race 1, the No. 52 Ferrari 488 driven by Daniel Serra and Marco Cioci would deliver a flawless performance, maximizing speed and reliability to finish in the best position for the second time in the season. Serra clinched the pole leading during the first stint of race 1 while in the second stint Cioci had to fight hard in the final laps to keep the position against Imperiale Racing Lamborghini. The Drivers’ Championship leader Mikkel Mac finished fifth in Luzich Racing Ferrari 488 no. 51 together with Alessandro Pier Guidi. Tenth spot in Pro.Am standing for Alexander West and Michele Rugolo in Ferrari 488 no. 71. In race 2, Mac and Pier Guidi were fourth under the chequered flag, Serra-Cioci ended tenth and West-Rugolo fourth in Pro-Am. In Teams’ standing, Luzich Racing is continuing to rule with 75 points and then Mikkel Mac is first in the Drivers’ standing thanks to 86 points. The next round will be at Monza, September 22nd and 23rd.
