Ocean Racing Technology is taking on the fourth meeting of the 2012 GP2 Series season with a new pair of drivers. Nigel Melker remains faithful to his position and determined to continue his remarkable development in the series. The Dutch driver will be paired with Victor Guerin, who comes from AutoGP and Formula 2. Nigel Melker particularly likes Spain’s Montmeló circuit, where he has had the chance to race over the course of his career. “I always had good results on this circuit and so I am confident I can extract all the car’s potential in these two races. The Bahrain races demonstrated that we are reaching a new level in terms of the car’s set-up and I am expecting this development to continue in Barcelona,” Nigel Melker declared.

For Victor Guerin, this will be a weekend of discovery: both his new car and Ocean Racing Technology. The Brazilian driver hopes to adapt quickly to his new professional environment. “I am very happy because it is a dream come true. I always wanted to race in the GP2 Series and I am very happy that Tiago Monteiro invited me to do so. I know Barcelona well, but the task will not be easy because I have to learn the car, which is totally new for me, in just a half hour practice! But I am relaxed; I want to get the most out of this experience,” Victor Guerin declared.

Tiago Monteiro and José Guedes are satisfied to bring together this new pair of drivers. “Nigel has done a very good job so far and we think that he will be even more competitive in Barcelona. We are very content to have Victor come to Ocean. He is a very young driver but he has immense talent. It will be a very big challenge for him but we are here to help him. The objective is for him to get good experience by the weekend,” the Portuguese team’s directors declared.

The races will be broadcast live on Skysports, Saturday at 1:35 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am.
