FFF Racing Team by ACM look forward to the challenge of Shanghai

It’s been a long summer break for FFF Racing Team by ACM but the Chinese-based team are looking forward to getting back to competition this coming weekend (21 – 23 September) as Blancpain GT Series Asia travels to Shanghai for the penultimate rounds of the championship.

“The whole team is looking forward to racing again after some down time,” said team owner Sean Fu Songyang. “As you can imagine everyone is now hungry for results after nearly two-months of not competing. This weekend can really make or break the season as a good result here would put us close to the championship for the final round. So, we’re focused on this weekend with the aim of gathering the maximum number of points possible for the Asian title.”

Martin Kodric and Dennis Lind have enjoyed an especially strong campaign this year in the #19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and lead the Silver standings by two points from their nearest rivals. The pairing are looking to bounce back to their winning ways after a tough round at Fuji Speedway, but given their pace over the season as a whole, they expect another strong showing on Chinese soil.

“Shanghai is a track I enjoy, I was here last year with the Super Trofeo, so hopefully I can build and progress on that,” said Lind. “We need some strong points for the team, and for the championship battle!”

Teammates Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Marco Mapelli are second in the Pro-Am standings having taken a fourth position and class victory last time out. With points in seven of the eight rounds to date, the team expects a further points haul in both Chinese rounds.

Mapelli is looking forward to the challenge but concedes that at the current Balance of Performance (BoP) levels in the championship, it will be a tough battle.

“Shanghai will be very important for our Blancpain GT Asia Series season,” the Italian said. “It’s a difficult circuit and – at the moment – the weather conditions are not certain. We’ll have to work hard as BoP isn’t in our favour, but we’ll make the most out of it!”

Over in Super Trofeo Asia, the team are seeking a repeat of the double podium secured last time at Fuji where first Jack Bartholomew and James Pull took the runner-up position and then teammates Artur Janosz and Andrea Amici repeated the feat the following day.
