CREVENTIC finalises calendar planning for 2019
Following the announcement of the provisional calendars of its various series for 2019 during the season finale at Spa-Francorchamps a few weeks ago, Dutch agency CREVENTIC has now finalised its calendar planning for the upcoming season. As a result, the final calendars of, the CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CONTINENTS, the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP and the GT & PROTO CHAMPIONSHIP have now been published and submitted to the FIA.
CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CONTINENTS
As announced previously, the 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE CONTINENTS includes the results from the Hankook 24H DUBAI (10-12 January) to represent the Asian continent, the best result from one of the two 24-hour races in Europe, either the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO (5-7 July) or the Hankook 24H BARCELONA (30 August-1 September) and the result from the North-American round, the Hankook 24H COTA (15-17 November). To be eligible to score points, participation on all three continents is mandatory.
EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Two minor changes have been made to the previously announced calendar of the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP to enable more teams to participate. As a result, the round at Mugello in Italy is now one week later than previously announced, the new date of the event in Tuscany is now 29-30 March. On the other hand, the Hankook 24H BARCELONA is now one week earlier, 30 August-1 September. The rounds in between, the Hankook 12H SPA (19-20 April), the Hankook 12H BRNO (23-25 May) and the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO (5-7 July) remain on the dates that were previously announced. For the European Championship standings, the best four results from the five rounds are taken into account and teams and drivers have to have participated in at least two rounds to score championship points.
GT & PROTO CHAMPIONSHIP
The previously announced calendar for the 2019 GT & PROTO CHAMPIONSHIP still included two TBAs that have now been finalised and can therefore be announced. The season gets underway with the Hankook 6H DUBAI (4-6 January), followed by the Hankook 6H BRNO (24 May), the Hankook 6H PORTIMAO (5 July) and the season finale, the Hankook 6H COTA (14-16 November). Here, the best three results are taken into account with participation in a minimum of two races as a requirement to be eligible to score points.
