Ocean Racing Technology showed off in Barcelona during the 7th and 8th GP2 Series races, with the fastest race laps in the second race. This weekend, the Portuguese team will be racing on the legendary circuit laid out in the streets of the Principality of Monaco. Nigel Melker and Victor Guerin will be there, defending Ocean Racing Technology’s colors with the desire to continue raising their performance level and to translate it into good results.

Nigel Melker has continuously progressed since his start in the GP2 Series, and the Dutch driver thinks he can continue on the same path, despite the complexity of Monaco’s street circuit. “We know we are fast and so I don’t have any doubt that good results will eventually come,” said Nigel Melker. “I sincerely expect this to be the case in Monaco. The track is demanding and does not forgive mistakes. I feel very good with the team, we are coming here to do some good work and we are determined to achieve our objectives.”

Victor Guerin took his first laps in the GP2 Series in the Barcelona races. The Brazilian driver was impressive through his qualities that came through in the fastest race lap in the second Spanish race. He says he is confident he can switch into high gear in Monaco. “I am arriving in Monaco with a better understanding of the car, but I don’t know the circuit. My ambition is to make the most out of the free practice. It will be complicated because in Monaco, mistakes will cost you dearly. But the essential thing is to make progress and to get the most out of this experience.”

José Guedes and Tiago Monteiro are optimistic. “Monaco is a circuit that rightly has a reputation for being extremely complex, but we think that both our drivers have what it takes to perform well. Nigel is adapting more and more to this championship and Victor has already proven that he was fast,” explained Ocean Racing Technology’s managers.

The Monaco GP2 Series races will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Friday at 10:30 am and Saturday at 4:00 pm.
