ITR GmbH appoints new managing director
ITR GmbH, the umbrella organisation of the DTM, has appointed Marcel Mohaupt as its new managing director. He replaces Achim Kostron, who has headed the company since joining in September 2017, on January 1, 2020. ITR GmbH, which is based in Stuttgart, Germany, is the organiser and promotor of the international racing series.
Kostron, previously strategic consultant at ITR e. V., has successfully implemented the restructuring and transformation of ITR GmbH over the past two years. He designed the strategic realignment and initiated all initiatives for product upgrading, internationalisation and digitisation. Going forwards, Kostron will be responsible for product development and sporting program management in the newly structured ITR management circle.
Berger: “We are entering a new phase in the further development of the DTM”
New managing director Mohaupt has more than 20 years of experience in the area of TV, marketing and sports organisation, mostly in various executive positions within the media industry. Most recently, he served as Senior Media & Streaming Strategy Advisor to the International Federation of Association Football FIFA. Beginning in January, he intends to use his expertise to drive forward the targeted growth of the DTM, particularly in the areas of marketing and digitisation.
