PREMA Racing posted two points finishes today at Silverstone in the reverse-grid Race 2 of the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Frederik Vesti grabbed P4 starting from P6, gaining one position and showing good racecraft in the process and grabbing good points.

Logan Sargeant made gains too in P5, scoring the maximum amount of points possible by improving from his starting position with a clever drive.

Having finished race 1 in second place, Oscar Piastri started from the 9th place and struggled amidst heavy traffic. The Australian, who was pushed off early and lost positions, was eventually stopped when his DRS remained open, which rendered his car undriveable.

Luckily Piastri didn’t lose much ground in points as he still sits atop the table, while PREMA Racing exits round 4 with a comfortable cushion at the top of the team competition.

“Not the best of days. I got pushed off a few times at the start of the race so I lost quite a few positions, and then the DRS stuck open so I couldn’t see the finish. It’s just unfortunate, it wasn’t looking like the best weekend anyway, but I see that compared to the other frontrunners the situation is quite even in terms of luck. I’m not too disappointed as long as next week is okay. Heads up and let’s keep working.”

“It’s been a decent weekend with decent points. It was the first time here at Silverstone for me unlike for many other top contenders. I think we did a very good step in qualifying going into race 1 and another massive step in race 2 which is very positive, and we can definitely work on that for next week. Now I know the track and how the car reacts, so we should be very good for round 5 and I’m looking really much forward to it. I’m going to relax for a few days and prepare everything even better to come back stronger than ever.”

“It has been a pretty good weekend, I can’t complain. I got my first pole position which is pretty cool. I just need to be a little bit better in race 1, but in race 2 we showed that we fixed what we missed in race 1. Throughout the whole weekend, I felt really good with the car. We had a great balance; our pace is good in all conditions so I’m excited to be coming back here next weekend. I’m expecting more very good results and hopefully, another pole position would be nice.”
