A positive two days for both Iron Lynx and Iron Dames at the FIA WEC Prologue in Sebring
Both the Iron Lynx and Iron Dames teams delivered strong performances at the two-day FIA WEC Prologue test over the 11th and 12th March, which was held at Sebring International Raceway. The teams put their Porsche 911 RSR-19 machinery to the test during the preview event for the highly anticipated FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season, which begins on the 15th of March.
Iron Dames, the all-female line up of Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting, showcased their skills behind the wheel of the pink Porsche 911 RSR-19, car #85. The trio displayed excellent teamwork and coordination as they logged numerous laps and set lap times, placing themselves in the top positions on the leader board. On day one, the Iron Dames set the fastest lap in class in both the morning and afternoon session.
Meanwhile, the drivers of the yellow Iron Lynx Porsche 911 RSR-19, car #60, also made a strong showing, as drivers Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Alessio Picariello recorded impressive lap times despite very hot temperatures. In the Saturday morning session, car #60 was just a fraction off P1 in class.
Iron Dame Doriane Pin formed part of the #63 Oreca07-Gibson PREMA Racing line up and gave an impressive performance during the two-day Prologue event; setting her fastest lap of the weekend on Sunday – [1:50.860].
Commenting on the successful test, Iron Lynx Team Principal, Andrea Piccini, said: “We are pleased with the progress we’ve made during these two days of testing. The drivers worked well together with the team, and we were able to get valuable feedback from them that will help us in our preparations for the upcoming race. It will be a tense week ahead as we will be racing in both FIA WEC and IMSA, but we are looking forward to the challenge.”
