GT OPEN: MAXIMILIAN PAUL SET FOR PAUL RICARD FOLLOWING THE WINNING ROUND IN BUDAPEST
Maximilian Paul returns to track as the International GT Open heads this weekend to the circuit Paul Ricard for the fourth of seven rounds of the season. After finishing third in the ADAC GT Masters last week on his hometrack at the Nürburgring, the DR Managements’ German driver aims to continue the momentum following his first win at the Hungaroring one month ago.
Sharing one of the two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s fielded by Oregon Team with Frenchman Pierre-Louis Chovet, Paul moved up to fifth in the standings, 33 punti behind leaders Samuel de Haan and Charlie Fagg (McLaren).
With a total of four double rounds still to be raced, Paul and Chovet are targeting the top, although in France they have to pay the handicap time consequently to the Budapest victory.
After the Friday’s free practice, the first 30-minute qualifying will start tomorrow at 8:58. Race one (70 minute) will commence at 13:15. Q2 will start on Sunday at 8:30, with the second 60-minute race scheduled at 13.50.
Both races will be live streamed on the International GT Open’s YouTube channel, at www.youtube.com/user/GTOPENseries.
