Pista – Bremotion with second car: Julien-Noel Rehberg set for his EuroNASCAR 2 debut
Bremotion will expand its NASCAR Whelen Euro Series program to two cars for the 2024 season. The German organization, led by Patrick Brenndorfer, will field the #77 Chevrolet Camaro for the first time in the season opener at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. Julien-Noel Rehberg from Germany, who participated in the 2024 Drivers Recruitment Program, will make his EuroNASCAR 2 debut as a Bremotion driver.
The German racing team from Frankfurt am Main had initially planned to run the second car from the second event of the season, the NASCAR GP Italy in Vallelunga, but they found a way to field two cars full-time in 2024. With Rehberg, Bremotion has found a raw diamond to compete for the Rookie Trophy in EuroNASCAR’s most unpredictable championship. The 18-year-old has already gained significant racing experience, but EuroNASCAR is the biggest step of his career.
“We are delighted to be able to expand our EuroNASCAR involvement so quickly,” said Bremotion Managing Director Brenndorfer. “With Julien, we have been able to recruit a young talent for the second car and we are confident that he will quickly get to grips with his new machine. In recent years, he has already proven that he can hold his own against the competition in equal cars.”
Rehberg joins EuroNASCAR veteran Tobias Dauenhauer (EuroNASCAR PRO) and rookie Dominique Schaak (EuroNASCAR 2), who will share the #99 Chevrolet Camaro. Rehberg began his career in kart slalom and then made the transition to road course racing. He won major German karting titles in 2015 and 2018, and then switched to touring car racing in 2021. Rehberg will certainly climb the learning curve quickly, but taming a 400-horsepower V8 beast with no electronic aids is a big challenge for rookies in Europe’s official NASCAR championship.
“My goal is to make it into the top-10”, said Rehberg from Haltern am See. “I really love the spirit in the series and that fits my passion for motorsports. I will be fighting for every meter on the track. My dad is my coach als will support me at every track around Europe. He took me to a kart slalom race when I was six years old and there I got the passion for racing.” Rehberg is a big fan of US cars and Harley Davidson bikes and has been racing since he was ten years old.
Bremotion has not announced a driver for the #77 Chevrolet Camaro in EuroNASCAR PRO, but there may be a late call to fill the entire cockpit for the season opener in Valencia. The season kicks off April 23-24 and all races will be broadcast live on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and numerous television networks around the world. For the first time in NWES history, Motorvision will stream the races with German commentary on the channel’s app.
