PREMA Racing will compete in the USA this weekend as the F1 Academy gets set for its second round of 2024 at Miami International Autodrome. The series will be back on American soil after the 2023 finale in Texas, and PREMA is looking forward to an equally positive weekend to then, having swept titles at Circuit Of The Americas last year.

Maya Weug is headlining PREMA’s effort in the driver championship with second place overall and a double podium in Jeddah. The Ferrari Driver Academy racer is looking to fight for wins this time.

On the other hand, Doriane Pin is determined to bounce back to victory. In Saudi Arabia, the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team Junior captured a double pole and a win in Race 1 but lost P1 in Race 2 due to a penalty. She is trailing Weug by just one point.

Tina Hausmann delivered a fine points finish in Race 1 with P6 but was prevented from fighting for the top-5 in Race 2. Supported by the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® Team, Hausmann showed great potential, which she is looking to finalize.

American Courtney Crone will join the full-season trio as a Wild Card driver. A 23-year-old from California, Crone has competed in Sprint Cars, LMP3 prototypes, speedway motorcycles, and is currently involved in GT racing.

The 5.4 purpose-built temporary circuit will provide a glamorous frame for drivers to impress and is expected to pose a thorough challenge considering the lack of prior running.

Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“Being able to race in such a unique place like Miami International Autodrome, and doing it with F1 Academy, really feels special. It will be a tough challenge for teams and drivers, but it will also provide good learning opportunities in terms of quickly adapting to an unknown environment. I think we showed great potential in Jeddah, now we have to focus on perfect execution to score as many points as possible and move forward in the series.”
