FIA Formula 3 Championship – PREMA kicks off European FIA F3 stint at Imola
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is set to be back on European soil this weekend as teams and drivers are set to compete at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. For PREMA Racing, it will be a home race, coming from the opening two rounds of the year in Bahrain and Australia.
The team scored two wins earlier this year, showcasing great potential, and lines up in Italy with the lead of the Team Championship. The tough Imola venue, with technical corners and elevation changes, will welcome Dino Beganovic, Gabriele Minì, and Arvid Lindblad as they push for more gains in the Driver Championship
Minì is currently third in points. The Alpine Academy driver, who has won at Imola in two different junior series, is looking to add another one in F3, which would be the first of the year for him. Trailing him in P4, Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy’s Beganovic is coming from a Feature Race win at Melbourne, and is back to the track where he achieved his first win in single-seaters. After winning the opening race of the season at Al Sakhir and achieving a second place in Melbourne, Red Bull Junior Arvid Lindblad is eager to take more steps in his rookie campaign.
With all the remaining races set to be held in Europe, Imola will start a pivotal part of the season, and good results there would definitely generate positive momentum looking ahead.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“We are looking forward to Imola. After months of traveling, it’s great to race with our Formula 3 programme so close to home. In the first part of the season, we got two wins, and really solid runs, but we still have work to be done in terms of maximizing the potential with all three drivers.
