Pista – PREMA back to Italian Formula 4 action at Imola
PREMA Racing will be back on track with its Formula 4 team this weekend on the most classic track for the series, Imola. The challenging old-school venue recently hosted Formula 2 and Formula 3, and has been visited often by Italian Formula 4, sometimes even twice per year. Imola is also a typical testing venue, so the field is expected to be tight and highly competitive.
The team will be back with the same six-car lineup that delivered dominant results in the opening round at Misano. Leading the chase, British racer Freddie Slater is back from a triple win, and an almost perfect score, including three poles and two fastest laps.
Alex Powell is chasing him in points with three second places at the Adriatic track, and a great overall pace that handed the Jamaican-American the lead in the Rookies’ championship. Kean Nakamura-Berta rebounded from a tough start to complete a podium lockout in Race 3 at Misano and is looking for even more competitive results.
Rashid Al Dhaheri secured a triple points finish in the opening event, and back to the venue that gave him his first rookie podium at debut one year ago, is aiming to use experience as a way to make a difference. Dion Gowda looks to continue the steady improvement showed with two points finishes at Imola while, last but not least, Tomass Stolcermanis will make another step in his debut season after showing great promise at Misano.
Angelo Rosin – Team Founder
“Imola is always a challenging track, but it offers a lot in terms of creating a high-level experience, which is especially useful for the young drivers competing in Formula 4. The results we achieved at Misano have been outstanding, but we know how quickly situations can change, and we must keep pushing for more positive results across the board.”
