Kessel Racing with two Ferrari at highlight of the year – the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa
Kessel Racing is getting ready for the hottest race of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe’s season. Among the sensational almost 70-entry list of GT3 cars confirmed at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, there will be two Kessel Racing Ferraris contesting next week. The Ferrari 296 GT3 #8 of Nicolò Rosi, Niccolò Schirò, David Fumanelli and Daniele Di Amato will compete in Bronze Cup, alongside the sister-car #74 of John Hartshorne, Ben Tuck, Matt Bell and Chandler Hull.
Both cars made a promising performance at the Prologue on 21st and 22nd May. During an intense two-day programme, the team worked closely with the drivers and fine-tuned the cars’ set-up. Both Ferraris made their fastest laps during the afternoon session on the second Test Day. The #8 car set the 7th best time in class, which was superbly headed by the Ferrari #74 of Hartshorne, Tuck, Bell and Hull that also achieved an excellent 7th fastest lap overall.
The official programme of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa will open with the traditional parade on Wednesday 20thJune. On this occasion, the special livery of the #74 Ferrari 296 GT3, honouring the centenary of the race, will be unveiled. With a geometrical pattern made of small symmetrical elements, which mimic the Ardennes Forest, the livery also pays homage to dynamism and high speed.
Ronnie Kessel, Team Principal, says: “Spa has always been an exciting track. It’s that kind of place where you never know what’s going to happen. If you put this track together with the queen of endurance races, the 24 hours, you can be sure you’ll have a very challenging competition and a great show. Weather as always is a crucial point, but in the end it´s the same conditions for everyone. The tests in May were successful, the team is ready, and the drivers are much motivated. We can’t wait to be on track.”
The twice-around-the-clock race will start on Saturday 29th June at 16:30, and after a 24-hour battle the winners will be awarded on Sunday 30th June.
