Mücke Motorsport pilots in Formula 3 EC top ten in Spa-Francorchamps
Berlin team Mücke Motorsport took home a trophy for Felix Rosenqvist (Sweden) as well as two further top ten places by Pascal Wehrlein (Worndorf / both Dallara Mercedes) from the sixth station of the Formula 3 European Championships, which took place in the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps on Friday and Saturday (27th/28th July). In the 29 driver strong field in the British Formula 3 Championships, not all of whom are registered for the Formula 3 European Championships, Rosenqvist finished ninth on Friday, equalling EC rank three. Wehrlein came in as overall 14th (EC place seven). Friday’s second race was cancelled due to heavy rainfall. The rain race on Saturday was finished prematurely for Felix Rosenqvist (ranking overall ninth) following a collision just after half time. Pascal Wehrlein, sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation and the Deutsche Post Speed Academy, finished as overall twelfth or fifth in the EC ratings.
„Visibility in Saturday’s race was close to zero which posed a significant danger to the drivers, causing Pascal to slow down”, team manager Peter Mücke explains. “The trophy for the third place in the EC ratings was a nice success but more was just not possible this time.” The second half of the Formula 3 Euro Series is due to start on 17th to 19th August on the Nürburgring for the German Capital’s racing team and its two drivers.
