FIA Formula 3 – Beganovic takes top-5 finish in challenging Sprint Race

PREMA Racing captured two points finishes in the FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race at Monza, as the series gets set for the final title showdown in tomorrow’s Feature Race.

The race proved quite eventful, with safety car situations playing a key role and several drivers starting from the back due to qualifying penalties. Starting from P2, Dino Beganovic navigated to a top-5 position although the team generally had a challenging day in terms of pace.

Gabriele Minì started from the 14th place on the grid and moved his way back towards the front, maximizing the potential he had available with a top-10 finish which kept the Italian in full contention for the title.

Arvid Lindblad is also still in contention for the championship win despite ending up out of the points zone after a strong start. He will have the toughest job of all starting from row 9, but as the team works to improve for tomorrow’s title-deciding feature race, he is set to battle until the very end.

#1 DINO BEGANOVIC
“Not super happy to finish P5 from P2. I got a bit compromised at the restart challenging for P2. Generally, we need to understand what to do for tomorrow in terms of pace compared to the others, because it will be a big day and we need the points. We have something to look for from today and hopefully, we have a stronger car so we can fight tomorrow.”

#2 GABRIELE MINÌ
“It was a messy and chaotic race. A lot went on, especially on the first lap. I tried to recover a bit and managed to do so at the beginning, missing DRS, but I just didn’t have a great pace. We are missing pace and we need to work harder and see what we can do better for tomorrow.”

#3 ARVID LINDBLAD
“Not the easiest race today. I was starting from P12, and I got a decent start and safety-car restart. I was up to P9 at one point, but then we struggled a bit as a team. I think there are a few things I could do better on my side but we struggled for pace and that was the biggest thing today. I wasn’t able to hold onto P9 and we just dropped out of points. We’ll review and try to fix that for tomorrow.”
