BULLS AND FALCONS: LAMBORGHINI IRON LYNX SET FOR 2024 FIA WEC FINALE

The desert track of Bahrain is home to the final round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend, and Lamborghini Iron Lynx is looking forward to competing in the 8 Hours of Bahrain to wrap up its first season in Hypercar competition.

While the Bahrain International Circuit is relatively new compared to other international venues, it has earned its place as an iconic destination for racing having recently celebrated its 20th birthday. Laying in the southern part of the country, close to the Sakhir Royal Bahraini Air Force base, Bahrain International Circuit has a flat and smooth surface that is expected to suit the team’s Lamborghini SC63 LMDh racecar well.

Last time around, the team made its first Hyperpole appearance at Fuji Speedway in the hands of Daniil Kvyat and, approaching the Bahrain finale, the goal is to keep progressing and showing promise. The full-season lineup will include the fast-starting Edoardo Mortara and Mirko Bortolotti, who was recently crowned DTM champion.

The 8 Hours of Bahrain will start at 14:00 local time and will soon head into sunset, and run for most of its distance under artificial lights. The checkered flag will fall at 22:00, and the team will stay trackside on Sunday for testing.

Emmanuel Esnault – Racing Director: “While we approach the end of our first Hypercar season, we are determined to maximise what we can achieve. Even if we are aware that, in terms of pace, we are still behind our main competitors, we have proved that we are able to progress and put up some promising showings. We want to end the year on a high as a way to reward everyone on the team for their unbelievable effort.
