Podium Result for Kessel Racing at Gulf 12 Hours
In the 13th edition of the Gulf 12 Hours, Kessel Racing demonstrated its resilience and skills once again, securing a podium finish in the Pro-AM class. The Swiss team, a fixture of success in the prestigious Abu Dhabi race, delivered a solid performance despite the challenges of the event.
The race, split into two segments, eight hours followed by a two-hour break, and then a final four hours, was filled with excitement and unpredictability from start to finish. The #11 Ferrari 296 GT3, piloted by Murat Cuhadaroglu, David Fumanelli, Giorgio Roda, and Davide Rigon, was a standout throughout. Despite intense competition, the car finished 6th overall and claimed a commendable third place in the Pro-AM class.
Meanwhile, the sister car, the #74, driven by Andrew Gilbert, Fran Rueda, and Tanart Sathienthirakul, had a challenging race with several ups and downs. However, the team mounted a remarkable recovery and ultimately finished the car in 14th overall, securing 5th place in the highly competitive GT3 Pro class.
The Gulf 12 Hours marked the conclusion of Kessel Racing’s full-season campaign for 2024. Looking ahead, the team will shift focus to the double-header of the Asian Le Mans Series next February, with races in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Additional racing programs are set to be announced in the near future.
The entire Kessel Racing team expresses gratitude to all supporters and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
