R01 Melbourne – FIA Formula 3 Race 2 Report – PREMA, Ugochukwu round out top-10 in Melbourne Feature Race

PREMA Racing signed off a challenging second race in Melbourne as the FIA Formula 3 Championship went underway in tricky conditions for the Feature Race. With increasing rain and diminishing visibility, the race featured two safety-car neutralizations and was eventually stopped for good on lap 16.
The team’s three drivers started within the pack and had to navigate their way in a difficult track situation. Ugo Ugochukwu, who was starting from P8, secured a points finish by rounding out the top-10. Despite being on a good recovery drive, Noel Leon had to settle for P13 at the end after starting from P19, fighting in the middle of the group with worsening conditions.
Starting again from P28, Brando Badoer finished his second race in the series in P26.
#1 BRANDO BADOER
“A tough race to end a tough weekend, with really difficult conditions. Visibility was very limited at the back of the pack and there weren’t many laps where we could push. We will now be focusing on the next round in Bahrain.”
#2 NOEL LEON
“It was a difficult race as it was so wet and it was tough to overtake and make some places. At least we didn’t make mistakes and improved our position. Quite a difficult weekend, we take the positive and we will work hard to arrive in Bahrain more competitive.”
#3 UGO UGOCHUKWU
“Tricky race overall with really wet conditions that were getting worse and worse. The visibility was really bad and we didn’t get many racing laps. We ended up in P10, which is not the result we wanted. We will look into what we can do better to prepare ourselves for Bahrain.”
