IRON LYNX STARTS 2025 ELMS TEST AT BARCELONA

The European Le Mans Series season is set to begin its 2025 run from Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend as Iron Lynx enters the new season as the reigning champion of the LMGT3 class. The team is facing the next step of its new journey, lining up with a brand-new Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 racecar.
With the 4 Hours of Barcelona set for the coming weekend, the ELMS field will benefit from a valuable two-day test and a combined 17 hours of running.
Driving the #63 car, Martin Berry, Lorcan Hanafin, and Fabian Schiller will represent Iron Lynx for the first time. While the Australian and the Briton are returning to ELMS for the third consecutive time, the German Mercedes-AMG Performance driver will make his first foray in the series, which will also be a first time for the prized German brand.
The team will continue its partnership with Proton Competition to field the Iron Lynx Proton LMP2 entry. The #9 Oreca 07 racecar will feature a returning trio of proven race winners: German racer Jonas Ried, Frenchman Maceo Capietto, and Italian Matteo Cairoli.
The Ligier European Series will also kick off this weekend, with Iron Lynx stepping up to the prototype class with the #60 Ligier JS P4 driven by the all-Italian pairing of Matteo Pianezzola and Gregorio Bertocco.
Andrea Piccini – Team Principal & CEO: “Being the champions is always nice, and we have good results at Barcelona in the past, which is never a bad thing. However, we have a lot of work to do to prepare for the race and season. We are happy to welcome Martin, Lorcan, and Fabi as we look to use the time available in testing to get the work in with the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3. LMP2 is about continuing the job done last year at the same pace, and we trust our relationship with Proton as well as Jonas, Maceo, and Matteo.”
