Mücke Motorsport with Felix Rosenqvist on second position after the first qualifying of the F3
The German Team Mücke Motorsport from Berlin had a good prelude at the Macau Grand Prix of the Formula 3 in China. The racing stable from the German capital city had two of their drivers in between the top ten at the first qualifying on Thursday (15th of November). The Swede Felix Rosenqvist finished on second position on the 6.12 Kilometres long city course in the former Portuguese Colony. His team colleague Pascal Wehrlein from Worndorf (Baden-Württemberg) finished on ten, the Australian Mitchell Gilbert (all Dallara Mercedes) finished on position 23.
„Felix could use his experiences at his third appearance in Macau, he even was about to get the fastest lap time, but there was an interruption of the Qualifying“, Peter Mücke told. And the team principal was satisfied with the results of the Macau rookies Pascal Wehrlein, who is supported by the Foundation ADAC Stiftung Sport and Deutsche Post Speed Academy, and Mitchell Gilbert as well. „Both of them still need a few laps to get used to the course and gather experience. Mitchell had an accident at the free training, but he surely will make his way up front like Pascal soon“, Peter Mücke said.
After the second Qualifying on Friday (16th of November) the best time of both days decides the starting grid of the 30 drivers for Qualifying Race on Saturday (17th of November). And the result of this decides the starting grid for the Macau Grand Prix of the Formula 3 on Sunday (18th of November). So there are still a lot of chances for Felix Rosenqvist (21 years old/third at this year‘s FIA Formula-3-European Championship), Pascal Wehrlein (18 years old/vice champion and rookie champion of the Formula 3 Euro Series as well as European Championship fourth) and Mitchell Gilbert (17 years old/overall fourth at the German Formula 3 Cup) to be at the front of the field in between the best Formula 3 drivers of the world.
