“ATS Formula 3 Cup INSIDE” – drivers meet fans
The excitement before the season opener, the tyre gamble at Spa, the still ongoing 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring; there have been only three racing weekends so far this ATS Formula 3 Cup season and yet there is so much to tell already. The young race drivers of the ATS Formula 3 Cup are going to answer questions from the fans in a loose series starting now . Swiss Yannick Mettler will be the first. The 30-minute “ATS Formula 3 Cup INSIDE” is going to be featured on the Facebook page of the ATS Formula 3 Cup this Sunday at 1 p.m. CEST.
It has only been nine years between his current 7th place in the overall standings of the ATS Formula 3 Cup and the start of his career in karting, when he was only 14 years old. He soon celebrated his first success and his hobby turned into a fascination for professional motorsports, which pushed the 23-year old from Lucerne (Team Performance Racing) to achieve extraordinary accomplishments. Yannick Mettler is determined to fulfil his dream of becoming a professional driver in the DTM series. The all-rounder makes every effort to achieve his goals, not only in terms of sports but also off the track. The driver is often called a “self-made race driver”. His professionalism stands out, as does his kindness and modesty. His philosophy in life is “Fulfil my dream but keep my feet on the ground.” Yannick Mettler is going to answer questions from the fans on Facebook, and perhaps he will tell us why Ayrton Senna and Lewis Hamilton are his role models, how the Ravenol Media Award pushed him forward as well as little anecdotes about his experiences off the track.
Face-to-face with the driver
The ATS Formula 3 Cup page has currently more than 800 fans, a constantly increasing number. The posts during the first racing weekend alone have reached about 10,000 fans. The majority of them are between 18 and 34 years old. “We want to enable our fans to get close to our drivers not only at the track but at home too,” explains Sebastian Wittrisch, Head of Organisation and member of the board. “For this reason we use social media to bring them face-to-face with their fans.”
