F.RENAULT 3.5 -TROUBLE-FREE FRIDAY FOR I.S.R. IN BARCELONA

I.S.R. experienced a trouble-free Friday of F.Renault 3.5 running in Barcelona. On the Spanish track, that is playing host to the final round of the 2013 season, the Czech team managed to bring both his cars in the high part of the timesheets, posting the 2nd quickest laptime of FP1 with Sergey Sirotkin and taking P6 in Free Practice 2 with Christopher Zanella.
Both drivers boasted a flawless performance, making the most of their cars and overcoming some odds too: Christopher had to cope with traffic in Free Practice 1 but then clearly proved his pace in FP2, while Sirotkin was impressively quick in the morning but couldn’t perform on the same level in Free Practice 2 due to a drive-by-wire throttle issue. Still, he managed to carry-out some useful setup work in race trim and the whole team is upbeat and confident looking to tomorrow.

Sergey Sirotkin: FP1 – P2; FP2 – P23
“In the morning we were quick despite a little suspension issue that costed us some track time. P2 was good enough, but I’m sure that without that glitch I could have been even closer to Magnussen. In the afternoon we used most of the session to work in race trim, something we couldn’t do in FP1, and the throttle issue we had late into the session meant that I didn’t get a chance to lap on new tyres. It’s a pity but I’m not worried, the car is quick and I’m ready for Qualifying”.
Christopher Zanella: FP1 – P21; FP2 – P6
“I was pretty quick in the morning session, but I was unlucky with traffic as I couldn’t really push when my tyres peaked. I proved that in FP2 as we were at the top of the timesheet from the very first laps: then we tried some different setup solutions through the session but we quickly understood that our first option was the best one, and we went back to that for our final run on new tyres. P6 was a good result and that lap wasn’t even completely clear from traffic, so I’m really confident for tomorrow”.
