F.RENAULT 3.5 – Convincing performance for I.S.R. and Sirotkin

ISR pressrelise 2211

For the last day of running of 2013, the third day of F.Renault 3.5 testing in Motorland Aragon, ISR was glad to welcome season regular Sergey Sirotkin back with the team. The Russian driver had tested with other outfits in the first two days, but aiming to finish the season on a high he was happy to join the Czech team once again, a plan that worked perfectly. Making the most of the perfect chemistry between Sergey and the team’s technical staff, ISR devoted the morning session to setup work, taking P7 on the timesheet despite not chasing performance. The hunt for a good laptime took place in the afternoon, and Sergey and ISR delivered despite very difficult track conditions, with strong wind and low tarmac temperatures. The Russian talent was quick throughout the whole session, but in the final try he upped his game even more, taking P3 just 0″1 shy of the quickest time. Closing the season with such a result was a great feeling for the team, that will now start working on their 2014 programme.

Loic David – Team Manager “It was a good day for us, we were happy to have Sergey back with the team and at the end of the day he had a big smile on his face, so we couldn’t ask for more. Performance-wise we are very satisfied with the job we did together, P1 could have been in our reach without a little issue that Sergey had in Turn 2. He went wide as he was blinded by sunlight and lost at least 3 tenths. Anyway, it’s only testing, first or third doesn’t really matter, the important thing is having the pace to be at the top and we clearly proved that, both yesterday and today”.
