The adrenaline level is rising ahead of this weekend’s event at Lausitzring. Ten drivers from seven countries will battle for points again in the ATS Formula 3 Cup in the support programme of the ADAC GT Masters. Once again, the starting grid includes high-profile names, including Markus Pommer from Neckarsulm, who will have to show if he is able to fend off his competitor from Kuala Lumpur, Nabil Jeffri. Dutchman Indy Dontje will definitely have a say in the matter, since he is currently third in the overall ranking and only one point behind. The 3.442-km track in the Lausitz will host the ATS Formula 3 Cup twice in the 2014 season. The German Formula 3 will be back there in September, in the support programme of the DTM.

The ATS Formula 3 Cup will travel to Lausitzring for the second of eight racing weekends. The season opener at Oschersleben saw an exciting battle between Malaysian Nabil Jeffri, contesting for Team Motopark, and German Markus Pommer, contesting for Team Lotus. The driver from Neckarsulm prevailed, scoring a double victory and taking the lead in the championship. Briton Sam MacLeod from Van Amersfoort Racing was also among the top contenders and will start into the racing weekend at Lausitzring from fourth place in the ranking. Scoring the most podium finishes, Dutchman Indy Dontje from Team Lotus popped the corks three times. As a result, he took the third place in the championship. This fact is underlined by the good training within the Formel ADAC, the series from which the 21-year old switched directly into the ATS Formula 3 Cup.

Rookie ranking and team ranking
Dontje aims to become the best rookie this season. This plan could work out, since the Dutchman took a clear lead in the 2014 rookie ranking. Briton Sam Macleod follows in second place. Dane Nicolai Sylvest is third in the ranking.
The Oschersleben-based talent factory Lotus is going for victory again in 2014 and leads the team ranking, followed by the Dutch team Van Amersfoort Racing. Team Motopark is only one point behind in third place.

Live timing and a live stream will be available worldwide at www.formel3.de for all races of the ATS Formula 3 Cup within the support programme of the ADAC GT Masters. In addition, TV stations Sport 1 and Kabel 1 will broadcast highlights of the racing weekends a few days later.
