Indy Dontje

Indy Dontje is this year’s big winner. The ATS Formula 3 Cup newcomer claimed the rookie title and took third place in the overall ranking. In addition, he has just won the Ravenol Media Award. The talent from the Netherlands will receive the award from lubricant manufacturer Ravenol, which is endowed with prize money of 5,000 Euros, at the Essen Motor Show this Friday. The jury agreed that the 21-year old mastered the entire repertoire showing particular personal commitment and creativity. He submitted a report about one day at the racetrack for children with cancer. The young race driver is an ambassador of “Against Cancer”. The ATS Formula 3 Cup Ravenol Media Award is awarded for the third time.

His season in the ATS Formula 3 Cup could not have worked out any better for Indy Dontje. In addition to the rookie title he also won the Ravenol Media Award. “I’m really happy with this award because I worked hard for it. I really wanted to win this Award, especially for Against Cancer, because now three families can go on vacation next year,” says a happy Dontje. “I want to thank the ATS Formula 3 Cup and Ravenol for this opportunity to draw attention to the foundation in a creative way.” The 21-year old started working on his project for the Ravenol Media Award during the season making use of the opportunity to get feedback from the jury. At the end, the young talent submitted a convincing cross-media presentation including videos about his work for “Against Cancer”. As the ambassador for the organisation, he made it possible for kids to enjoy a day at the racetrack supporting them in their own race against the disease.
Katrin Wolff, Managing Editor of AUTO BILD MOTORSPORT and member of the jury: “Indy’s project was not a short-time endeavour but rather a growing commitment. In the era of the new media he managed to make a big impact with the video. He integrated the topic well on his Facebook page. He attracts attention from his country’s media, which also puts a focus on the racing series.”
“The positive response from the media and in the social networks is proof of the creative work,” explains Robert Seiwert, Managing Editor of Motorsport-Magazin.com and member of the jury. “Indy’s passion for the entire project was very credible and sharpened his personality effectively.” Martin Huning, Ravenol Motorsport Director adds: “He was the only one to use the medium video. It is an important tool for presenting both a project and a person. He is obviously very involved, yet at the same time he lets his guests and the project take centre stage.”

Indy Dontje will receive the award from Martin Huning at the Ravenol booth. Editors and photographers are welcome:
