ZaWotec confirms two KTM GT4 cars for GT4 European Series

Two brand new KTM GT4 vehicles are almost ready to race in the GT4 European Series. Awaiting the balance of performance test by SRO, the Austrian based team ZaWotec has high hopes for this season. Austrian drivers Peter Ebner, Sascha Halek and Daniel Uckermann will be piloting the two cars.

The renowned Reiter Engineering GmbH & Co KG and KTM Sportcar GmbH are currently preparing the cars for the 2015 season. “We’re working hard and are very confident meeting the tight deadline,” says Hans Reiter, owner of Reiter Engineering.

The ZaWotec team headed by Mario Wolf is a KTM partner since 2009 and has extensive experience with the proven X-Bow model. Over 60 podium finishes have been collected in the recent years.

Three drivers are committed to race the KTM GT4 cars during six events at iconic tracks like the Red Bull Ring, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring, partnering series such as the Blancpain GT Sprint and ADAC GT Masters. The season kicks off at the French track of Nogaro 4 – 6 April.

Peter Ebner, 44, Wolfsburg (AT): “When I heard about the KTM GT4 project I was directly interested. I have experience with the KTM X-Bow and I know exactly how that car behaves. I simply couldn’t ignore the fact that there was an improved race version under development and I’m happy to race the GT4 model. I’m confident that we’ll be fast.”

Sascha Halek, 26, Seyring (AT): “Last year I focussed on the Blancpain GT Sprint and ADAC GT Masters, but for this year I wanted to start a new adventure. The X-Bow was already fun to drive and the new GT4 model makes me curious. I like the aggressive design that reminds me of Le Mans prototype cars. It’s difficult to predict, but we want to race in front and to score as many points as possible. I’m ready.”

Daniel Uckermann, 32, Kitzbühel (AT): “ZaWotec showed me the potential of this car. The KTM GT4 has a perfect aerodynamic design and I cannot wait to drive it around the track and pushing it to its limits. Small technical issues may appear while racing a brand new car, but I expect we’re among the fastest at all times. I’m counting down the days.”
