COMPETITION102 GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES EXPECTS FIREWORKS AT THE NÜRBURGRING

The penultimate event of the Competition102 GT4 European Series will be held on familiar ground. The iconic Nürburgring race track ranks high on the drivers’ list of favourite circuits. Therefore championship leaders Jelle Beelen (NED) and Marcel Nooren (NED), who’ve stepped onto the podium after every single race this season, expect fierce battles with their main rivals during the ADAC GT Masters weekend. Daniel Uckermann (GER) comfortably leads the AM class, but has seen his lead decreasing after a double win by Pavel Lefterov (BRG). The races of the Competition102 GT4 European Series will be broadcast live on the official website and iPhone app.

Beelen and Nooren have collected 167 points and took home eight trophies after as many races. Another two second place finishes in Spa-Francorchamps helped the Dutch drivers with the Chevrolet Camaro GT4 race car to consolidate their position and are keen to extend their excellent performance streak at the Nürburgring. Teammate Duncan Huisman (NED) will again be partnered by Luc Braams (NED) on the other Camaro and have high hopes to close the gap to their rivals before going into the final race weekend. Racing Team Holland driver pairs Ricardo van der Ende (NED) / Bernhard van Oranje (NED) and Simon Knap (NED) / Rob Severs (NED) are able to clinch victories as well.
ZaWoTec racing drivers Sascha Halek (AUT) and Peter Ebner (AUT) hope to perform well at the Nürburgring after scoring only one podium finish in the PRO category during the previous race weekend. The KTM X-BOW GT4 drivers are 67 points short to championship leaders Beelen and Nooren. Competition will also come from Jörg Viebahn who sits third in the drivers’ standings. The German is an experienced race car driver and knows his home track very well. The same counts for Hendrik Still (GER), racing the Sin R1 GT4 vehicle. They all have to look out for the Porsche 981 Cayman SP. Former DTM and WTCC racer Peter Terting will partner the experienced driver Carsten Struwe. PROsport Performance will now be competing in the PRO division.

The second KTM driver is the man to beat in the AM division. Uckermann appeared to be a consistent podium finisher and targets the top step at the Nürburgring after rival Lefterov was unbeatable at Spa-Francorchamps. It won’t be an easy objective as competition is expected from German driver Jan Kasperlik and Dietmar Lackinger (AUT) with the BMW M3 GT4 and three Swedish teams. Bald Eagle Racing returns to the series with their BMW M3 GT4 while Förenade Racing will make their debut with Joakim Söderström (SWE) and Milton Lundström (SWE) behind the wheel of BMW M3 GT4 too. Ricknaes Motorsport enters a Porsche 911 GT4 for Swedes Håkan Ricknäs and Peter Larsen. Turkish driver Salih Yoluc joins the grid with a Ginetta G50 GT4.
