Faust Salom defends championship lead in Los Arcos

Balearic Islands´ driver and his teammate Jaume Font are ready for the second event of the Spanish Endurance Championship with their Baporo Motorsport SEAT León Cup Racer. After CER´s event in Barcelona, the Mahon-born driver sponsored by Triatges Motorsport, Motorisa Renault Trucks Mallorca, Potencia Alquiler de Maquinaria and Pinturas R-M put himself in the lead of all classifications
Faust Salom, the emerging Spanish touring car star, approaches the second race meeting of the season in the Spanish Endurance Championship, to take place at the Circuito de Navarra in Los Arcos. His impressive start to the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in early April can be described as stunning. Salom, teaming up with Jaume Font at the wheel of the Baporo Motorsport-entered SEAT León Cup Racer, dominated CER season opener in Barcelona. He stormed to pole position in qualifying setting a new record and later the driver of Menorca took a lights-to-flag win in the race. After his brilliant weekend, Salom took the lead in the lead of all classifications: TCR 1, Class 1, SEAT León Trophy and Junior, both in the Spanish Endurance Championship and in the Long Distance series. Despite Salom and Font will be carrying an additional handicap time during pit stops after his maiden win of the season, the young ace born in the Balearic Islands targets ambitious goals. With more than 30 cars on the entry list, Salom´s main goal is to defend his leads by scoring as many points as possible. Salom doesn´t rule out a podium finish at the Circuit de Navarra, where luck wasn´t on his side last year. But that is in the past and Faust is committed to shine in Los Arcos. Faust Salom quotes:

“I´m really looking forward to driving the SEAT León Cup Racer once again and show what I am able to do with this car. Following our nice start taking a dominant race win, we arrive in Navarra with a clear goal in mind: to have a good weekend. Our time handicap will be a difficult task to cope with after our triumph, so another win or such a perfect weekend will be even harder! But I´m sure we need to stay calm and have cool heads. It will play a key role to defend our lead. Anyway, our rivals are strong but we will continue giving our best”. “Last year, driving the Renault Clio III, I was quite unlucky because a collision and a flat tire ruined my chances in both races, so I didn´t score a single point. But I´m sure it will be a completely different weekend in 2016!”. “I would like to thank my fans, who support me on social media, and my sponsors TRIATGES MENORCA, MOTORISA, POTENCIA y R-M PINTURAS because without their help, without everybody´s help, this programme in a SEAT León Cup Racer would have been impossible. And it only can get better!”
Saturday is devoted to private testing and finally, on Sunday, qualifying session will take place at nine in the morning. The two-hour race will get underway at 13.00. For additional information, visit my profile on Facebook.
