South Africa’s Jonathan Aberdein staked his claim for the prestigious 2017 ADAC German Formula 4 championship when he ended quickest of all at the series’ official two day test session at Oschersleben on Tuesday.

Capetonian Aberdein was quickest in two of the day’s three Formula 4 sessions, with his morning’s 1 minute 26.12 second lap topping the overall time sheets. Jonathan kept inside the top three throughout the six sessions of the test for all 26 cars entered for 2017 season.

“I am very happy with how the last two days went,” recently crowned Formula 4 UAE champion Jonathan admitted. “We topped the timesheets in three out of the six sessions and I never dropped out the top 3 throughout. “It was also good to finally get a reference to where we are versus the rest and I have to admit that we are pretty chuffed with the outcome.

“We know where our weak spots are and where we need to improve too and we’ll be working on that in the build up to the season, but I’d say we are ready and I can’t wait to race.”

The 2017 ADAC German Formula 4 championship commences at Oschersleben over the weekend of 29-30 April.
