The first meeting of the Super Season took place on April 6th and 7th at the Paul Ricard circuit for the World Endurance Championship Prologue.

The six REBELLION Racing drivers tested the brand new Oreca REBELLION R-13 by the shining sun. One by one, both crews got acquainted with the car. Even if the announcement of the partnership with the British sports car manufacturer TVR had a great impact (find more HERE), the technical teams and the drivers aimed to prepare the Super Season a few weeks before the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

A good start on track before the next driving session scheduled for April 24th and 25th at the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit.

Bart Hayden, team manager
“Prior to the WEC Prologue, we had shaken down the Rebellion Racing R13 car #1, so going into the official test we knew that we had a lot of work to do. We are very happy with the number of laps that we achieved during the WEC Prologue, the car was very reliable and we were able to work through our programme of tests. The R13 was very competitive within the non-hybrid LMP1 cars and when we consider how much testing some of those cars have done already, I think that we should be extremely pleased with the results. A big thank you needs to go to all the members of the Rebellion Racing team for their hard work over the recent weeks and also to the Oreca staff that designed the car and the technicians in the factory who have helped to put the R13 car on the track.“

Bruno Senna, #1 driver
“The Prologue was a great way for us to get our first contact with the new Rebellion P1 car. It was a great success with strong reliability out of the box and good performance even at this very early stage, which gives us good confidence that we’ll be fighting hard during Le Mans and the championship for strong results. Can’t wait for the race in Spa!”

André Lotterer, #1 driver
“It was a pleasure to discover the REBELLION LMP1 car, we could drive a lot despite the fact that this was its first week. We were able to gain a lot of information, I quickly felt comfortable with the car. The team is very professional and it’s great to have such a collaboration with Oreca because it’s a very ambitious project. I can not wait for the next test and continue to discover the whole team.”

Neel Jani, #1 driver
“It was a great start to the 2018 campaign for REBELLION. It was basically our roll-out and the car ran already great! This shows the great work and preparation by the whole team. I cannot wait for Spa!”

Mathias Beche, #3 driver
“First of all we must congratulate the whole REBELLION Racing and Oreca teams who worked hard to put the car on the track in a very short time. It’s a real performance! The first laps went very well, reliability was excellent on both days. In my opinion, it feels good to get back into a car because I had not driven since Barhain last year. We were also able to discover the work with our new engineer Justin Taylor, who was very well integrated into the team. We will now go into a development phase to better understand the chassis, Michelin tires and try to take full advantage of this promising auto.”

Thomas Laurent, #3 driver
“The car is beautiful, I could drive it on the second day of the Prologue with my two teammates. The contact with mechanics and engineers is pretty good, thanks to it, my integration into the team had been facilitated. I have a very good feeling with the car, the team did a great job to make the R-13 perform at the highest level for the Prologue.”
