#PortimaoWorldSBK – Nolan prepares to back Portuguese Round
With the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship gearing up for the return to action in just over three weeks time, Nolan and Dorna WSBK Organization are happy to announce the upcoming Nolan Portuguese Round will take place from 14th – 16th September.
Nolangroup was founded in 1972 and has grown from strength to strength throughout the years. Currently the only company in the industry to produce all of its helmets in Italy through a fully integrated production process, they receive the raw materials to the final assembly of the helmets. Producing over 450,000 helmets a year, they have supported many successful riders over the seasons, with Aruba.it Racing – Ducati’s Chaz Davies, Marco Melandri and Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Leon Camier (Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team), Lorenzo Savadori (Milwaukee Aprilia) and Leandro Mercado (Orelac Racing VerdNatura) choosing the Nolan or X-Lite brands. Committed to safety and quality, their drive for innovation makes them a perfect partner for SBK®.
Hosting Round 10 of the WorldSBK championship, Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is preparing for a sensational weekend of racing as it hosts all four championship classes, with riders eager to get out on track after 10 week summer break. Returning to the calendar last season, the Portuguese track provides thrills and spills with their stunning roller-coaster style circuit. Reigning world champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) did the double last season, will he have anyone to challenge him in 2018?
Alberto Vergani, President of the helmet invest holding of Nolan Group expresses their delight at the news: “The sponsorship of the Portuguese Round responds to a precise strategy to optimize our leadership in the World Superbike Championship, where we have many riders who use our Nolan and X-lite X-803 helmets. We strongly continue to believe in the promotional validity of World Superbike, and we are proud to be the only licensees of the two major World Championships (WorldSBK & MotoGP™) managed by Dorna. I want to thank Dorna for the over 20 years of collaboration with Nolan ”
Marc Saurina, WorldSBK Commercial and Marketing director adds: “Nolan will be our eighth Event Round Sponsor for 2018, and we are thrilled to have the world renowned Italian company on-board for the Nolan Portuguese Round. Partnering with a company built on safety and quality, as well as with a drive for innovation, they are the perfect partner for us as we head into the penultimate European Round of the season. We have no doubt that the Nolan Portuguese Round will be a round to remember.”
Gear up for the tenth round of the 2018 season in Portugal from 14th – 16th September, as the riders return to the track with four rounds left. Catch all the action with the WorldSBK VideoPass.
