The Spaniard heads to Great Britain for the fourth meeting of the GT Cup Open in which he is back at the wheel of the Teo Martín Motorsport-run McLaren 570S. Salom and his team have been working intensively to prepare the second half of the season as there are still three rounds remaining.

Faust Salom is back for his fourth round counting towards the GT Cup Open, which is held at Silverstone. Spain’s Salom will drive the McLaren 570S entered by Teo Martín Motorsport and expects to continue his streak of strong results as he made an immediate impression on his debut on the European GT scene. Salom has already delivered brilliant performance at the Hungaroring and Spa-Francorchamps, the latter where the Spaniard was already for pole position contention. His sights are set on the podium at Silverstone, the 5.901-kilometer circuit and well-known as “The Home of British Motor Racing”. Salom and his teammate Guillem Pujeu will fight for top honors in the Pro-Am class. Last but not least, Salom will visit the McLaren factory in Woking today, the famous headquarters in which worked drives such as Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Mika Hakkinen, Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso himself. There is no doubt it is a massive step forward for Salom, who will have a morale booster for the British venue.

“Finally we are back to racing after many weeks away in summer. I have been working a lot these weeks always with my mind set in racing. I was able to recharge myself to approach the second half of the season with plenty of enthusiasm as you need to make your best in such a competitive European racing programme. I am looking forward to racing on Silverstone to continue my learning process at the highest level and follow the same path as I did at previous events. I feel very motivated and prepared this round very well physically and on the simulator as I always do. I have worked at Teo Martín Motorsport’s MSI, such a dream for any driver!” explains Salom.

The young Spanish ace underlines that “it looks like Silverstone fits perfectly our McLaren 570S GT Cup. We are sure our hard work will finally pay off as Teo Martín Motorsport, McLaren and the drivers continue developing the car. I really think we will fighting for top places this weekend. Let’s see!”. Finally, Salom adds that “we feel enthusiastic because it will be worth the effort. We will enjoy our first podiums and wins soon. We will push as hard as always to achieve those results we deserve. As always, I especially want to thank my fans on social media, my family and my team their held and support. Thank you everybody!”

Saturday’s race 1 is scheduled at 14.50 (CET) with Sunday’s race 2 bringing the curtain down on the British venue at 12.40. They will be streamed live on YouTube and live timing will be also available throughout the weekend.
